"Loona" is from my new line working with Japanese "sumi" ink. Hand painted on hand woven matka silk, the sumi is carefully applied directly on the silk after a long mordant process which allows the ink to become permanent. The brush strokes remind me of loons bobbing on the water. Lightweight, silk is cooling in the summer and warm in the winter - wear it all seasons!
Measurements: 22" x 83" or 56 cm x 210 cm
Loona is hand painted. The mordant process to make the sumi ink permanent can discolor the silk slightly.
*Care instructions: Hand wash is COLD water (never hot) with very mild detergent. Do not over agitate while washing. Rinse and gently squeeze out the access water by rolling in a towel. Gently shape it back to its original shape (blocking). Dry flat.
Ironing: set iron on wool setting with steam. ON REVERSE SIDE, press gently while ironing to maintain texture.
