Etna was inspired by the active volcano Mt. Etna in Sicily. Grey and black lava rock covers the landscape as you travel up the mountain with the occasional volcanic steam rising through the cracks until you reach the crater. My interpretation of Mt. Etna's lava are long Tisdale locks cascading down the side of this wonderful vessel. Hand felted using natural grey Gotland and Icelandic wool. Measurements: 10" height x 12" diameter
The question always arises: What can I use it for? Tips: Fill it with your favorite yarns knitting needles. Keep it in the living room to place tv controls and the like handy yet tucked away. I have one on the piano so that pencil and metronomes do not scratch the piano surface. Make it a conversation starter! And to be sure your kitty will not make it a warm sleep hideaway (my Cleo loves wool vessels!), place it on a mantel or side or coffee table.
Care Recommendations: This is wool and will not hold liquids. You can place a potted plant with a saucer in the vessel if you wish but keep the vessel dry. To keep the shape, make sure to smooth out any little dents that may occur from general handling. To clean, take your dust buster and vacuum gently with the brush attachment.
